We are looking for a highly analytical API Tester to join our quality engineering team and ensure the integrity, security, and performance of our backend ecosystems.

Position Overview:

As an API Tester at Project Tree, you will own the end-to-end API testing lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing sophisticated test scenarios that validate the “plumbing” of our applications. From verifying status codes to automating complex backend workflows within CI/CD pipelines, your role is pivotal in ensuring seamless data flow between our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• API Test Engineering: Design and execute comprehensive API test cases; perform rigorous positive and negative testing to ensure backend stability.
• Data Validation: Validate request/response payloads, verify HTTP status codes, and ensure compliance with response schemas (JSON/XML).
• Functional & Integration Testing: Test backend integrations and validate end-to-end data flow between decoupled systems and microservices.
• Test Case Management: Review requirements and API documentation (Swagger) to create and maintain exhaustive test cases and scenarios.
• Automation & Tooling: Drive efficiency by automating API tests where possible and integrating them into our CI/CD pipelines.
• Workflow Validation: Perform end-to-end API workflow testing to ensure business logic remains intact across complex integration points.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• API Testing Tools: Expert-level proficiency in Postman, Swagger, and SoapUI.
• Core Technical Skills: Deep understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON/XML, and various API authentication methods (OAuth, JWT).
• Automation (Preferred): Experience with Rest Assured and Selenium for technical validation.
• Methodology: Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum workflows and a robust understanding of analytical debugging.
• Good to Have: Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter), microservices architecture, and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).

Soft Skills
